30-603 Adjustment Instructions for IDEAL BNC Connectors
START: Identify your version of the Adjustable 30-603 IDEAL compression tool:

Previous version has a longer plunger head
and tool has no adjustment lines
Current version has a shorter plunger
head and tool has adjustment lines
To Adjust Current Version:
To Adjust Previous Version:
Loosen the locknut/
plunger combo with a
flat head screwdriver.
Loosen and remove the lock-
nut/plunger combo from the tool
with a flat head screwdriver.
Remove the locknut from the
plunger.
Screw the plunger back
into the body of the tool
as far as it can go. Do not
use the locknut for BNC’s.
Adjustment
Lines
Screw the plunger into
the body of the tool as
far as it can go. The
locknut should be near
the head of the plunger.
Test a BNC connector for proper fit
and compression. Adjust plunger
again for best fit if necessary.

Plunger
The locknut is NOT required for proper operation of the
30-603. However, it is recommended for keeping the
selected plunger setting locked in place.

*The 30-603 tool is recommended for occasional BNC users. For installers who regularly use BNC and F connectors,
the 30-793 tool is recommended as the above adjustments are not required to terminate BNC connectors.
