Using your coffee maker

Fill the WaterTank (5) and place into the coffee
maker.
Ensure the On/Off Switch (10),and Steam
Control (2) are set to /Off. Select Coffee (8).

Plug the coffee maker into the mains.
Place the relevant Filter (14) or (15) into the Filter
Holder (16). Fill with espresso coffee and tamp
withTamping Spoon (18), or use an E.S.E. pod.

Insert the Filter Holder into the Brewing Head (4)
turning anti-clockwise until it locks fully into place.
Place your cup(s) under the Coffee Dispenser (17).
Slide the On/Off Switch (10) to On.The
Temperature Indicator Light (9) will stop
flashing when the coffee maker is ready.

Slide and release the One (6) orTwo Cup (7) Switch
to start brewing the desired amount of coffee.
To stop or cancel the brewing process, slide
and release the switch again.

Ensure the On/Off Switch (10),and Steam
Control (2) are set to Off. Select Steam (8).

Place the Steam Wand (3) 10mm deep into a
jug of milk.Turn the Steam Control (2) to On.
When done,Turn the Steam Control (2) to Off
BEFORE removing the Steam Wand (3) from
the Milk.

WHEN FROTHING MILK ENSURE THE STEAM
CONTROL IS OFF BEFORE REMOVING THE
WAND FROM THE MILK.

Slide the On/Off Switch (10) to On.The
Temperature Indicator Light (9) will stop
flashing when the coffee maker is ready.
Follow steps 1,2,3 of ‘Using your coffee maker’
on page 3.Then refer to the following.

Place an empty mug under the Steam Wand
(3).Turn the Steam Control (2) to On to start
dispensing hot water.
When the desired amount has been
dispensed, turn the Steam Control to Off
BEFORE removing the mug from underneath
the Steam Wand.
You can adjust these amounts for your own
personal preference by following these steps, (Up
to a maximum of 150ml for One Cup and 250ml
forTwo Cup.)
Before first use
• Take your coffee maker out of the box and
remove the packaging.

Set up your coffee maker as normal following
steps 1-6 of ‘Using your automatic espresso’ on
page 3.Then refer to the following.
• Wash the detachable parts of the machine in
warm soapy water.
• The first time you use your coffee maker,
operate with water only.
Slide and hold the One Cup (6) orTwo Cup (7)
Switch and keep pressed until the coffee maker
has dispensed the desired amount of coffee.
• Occasionally air locks can be present before first
use. Please refer to troubleshooting guide
(page 8) to resolve.
Release the switch to set the new dispensing
amount.
The new setting will be stored even if the coffee
maker is unplugged from the mains.
Adjusting the espresso
memory function
It is not possible to reset the amount back to the
original dispense amount. To adjust the amount
of coffee dispensed, repeat the adjustment
process again to create a new dispense amount.
The coffee maker can dispense two different
amounts of coffee.The coffee maker comes with
the following amounts set as the default settings.
One Cup - 50ml
Two Cup - 100ml

Adjusting the height of the
Drip Tray
Temperature Indicator Light
TheTemperature Indicator Light (9) flashes slowly
when the boiler is heating, this is normal.
You can adjust the height of the DripTray to
reduce splashing when dispensing coffee into
smaller cups such as espresso cups.
TheTemperature Indicator Light will flash fast and
the coffee maker will not work when there is a
problem.
If this occurs check;
• The water tank is full and correctly installed.
• The steam control is set to off.
• Any air locks have been removed.
Sleep mode
Please note your coffee maker has a sleep mode
to save energy. If your coffee maker is not used
for 15 minutes, your coffee maker will enter sleep
mode.TheTemperature Indicator Light (9) flashes
slowly in this mode.
Press the two DripTray Adjustment Buttons (12)
to release the spring catch and raise or lower the
drip tray.
To wake the machine, slide and release either the
one (6) or two cup (7) switch.
Emptying the Drip Tray
Using the correct type of
coffee grinds
When the water in the DripTray is full, the Drip
Tray Level Indicator (13) will change colour.
When making espresso coffee it is important to
use the correct type of coffee grinds. Espresso
coffee is a very fine grind which is designed to
work with espresso filters. Using other types of
coffee in an espresso filter (such as filter coffee
grinds,) will result in a poorer tasting coffee and
could clog the filter.
E.S.E. Pods
The coffee maker is compatible with both E.S.E.
pods (a compact coffee pod with a paper filter
covering,) as well as ground espresso coffee.
When making espresso with an E.S.E. pod, use
the One Cup/ E.S.E Pod Filter (14).

Remove the DripTray (11) from the appliance and

Simply wipe the Steam Wand (3) and exterior with
a clean, damp cloth.
Remove the WaterTank (5) and DripTray (11) from
the machine.
Do not use any abrasives or metal scourers as
this will damage the finish on the unit.
Fill the WaterTank with dissolved citric acid
solution, up to the max level marked on the side
of the tank.

The Filter Holder (16) and WaterTank (5) should

be washed after each use by rinsing them under
water.To assist in keeping the Filter Holder clean
we recommend you periodically run the machine
with the Filter Holder in place, without coffee,
using water only.
Re-fit the WaterTank and DripTray to the
machine.
Place an empty container under the Brewing
Head (4) to gather the descaled hot boiled water.

Connect the appliance to the mains supply.
Should the holes in the filter become blocked
with coffee grinds, use a fine bristled brush to
help clean.
Slide the On/Off Switch (10) and wait for the
Indicator Light (9) to stop flashing.

will flow through the unit.
When your coffee maker is not being used, we
recommend that you do not leave the filter holder
attached to the machine as this will reduce the life
of the gasket.

You must clean the Steam Wand and cover
immediately after each use, after it has cooled
down. Briefly use the steam setting to clear any
remaining milk out of the Wand and Cover.
Remove the Steam Wand Cover, place under
warm running water to remove excess milk. If the
Steam Wand becomes blocked, use a small pin to
clean more thoroughly.

Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cable or
plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been

Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your
appliance corresponds with your house electricity supply
which must be A.C. (Alternating Current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the
plug supplied with this appliance the plug should be
removed and the appropriate one fitted.
