wet or come near water; electrical shock could result!
8. Jumpstart procedures should only be performed in a safe, dry, well-ventilated area.
9. REPLACEMENT PARTS
9. Always store battery clamps in built-in holsters when not in use. Never touch battery
clamps together; this can cause dangerous sparks, power arcing, and/ or explosion.
For replacement parts (bulbs, batteries, fuses, etc.), contact Vector® Customer Service:
(954) 584-4446.
10. When using this unit in proximity to the vehicles battery and engine, stand the unit on
a flat, stable surface, and be sure to keep all clamps, cords, clothing and body parts
away from moving vehicle components.
BULB REPLACEMENT
Tools needed - small Phillips screwdriver. Replacement bulbs are available from Vector®
Customer Service Department; call (954) 584-4446 ext. 19.
11. Do not wear vinyl clothing when jumpstarting a vehicle; friction can cause dangerous
static electricity sparks. Remove all jewelry or metal objects that could cause short
circuits or react with battery acid.
1. Unscrew (counterclockwise) and remove two Phillips screws.
2. Remove the lens cover.
12. Always disconnect the negative (Black) jumper cable first; followed by the positive
(Red) jumper cable.
3. Remove the burned-out bulb.
4. Replace with a new bulb (12 volt 0.2 amp Krypton bulb) available from Vector®
Customer Service Department; call (954) 584-4446 ext. 19
13. Never allow red and black clamps to touch each other or another common metal
conductor; this could cause damage to the unit and/ or create sparking/ explosion
hazard. Always store battery clamps in built-in holsters when not in use.
5. Snap the lens cover back into place.
14. Do not expose battery to fire or intense heat as it may explode. Before disposing of
the battery, protect exposed terminals with heavy-duty electrical tape to prevent
shorting (shorting can result in injury or fire).
6. Replace (clockwise) the screws and carefully tighten. Do not over tighten!
15. Do not smoke or use inflammable items (matches, cigarette lighters, etc.) while
working on a vehicles battery system.
16. Keep unit out of reach of children (whether stored, or in use).
FIRST AID:
1 . SKIN : If battery acid comes in contact with skin, rinse immediately with water, then
wash thoroughly with soap and water. If redness, pain, or irritation occurs,
seek immediate medical attention.
2 . EYES: If battery acid comes in contact with eyes, flush eyes immediately for a minimum
of 15 minutes; seek immediate medical attention.

4. CHARGING/ RECHARGING
For maximum battery life, we recommend that the START-IT Co m p a ct Pro system
be kept fully charged at all times. If the battery is allowed to remain in a discharged
state, battery life will be shortened. Note: Recharging battery after each use will
prolong battery life; frequent discharges between recharges will reduce battery life.

1. INTRODUCTION:
POSITIVE GROUND SYSTEMS (UNCOMMON)
Congratulations on selecting the Vector® START-IT Co m p a ct Pro JUMPSTART
SYSTEM & 1 2 VO LT DC PO W ER SUPPLY. This compact jumpstarter is unique in the
amount of energy it can supply for its size. The internal battery is a Vector® developed
high density sealed lead acid battery that stores and delivers energy comparable to full
sized ordinary jumpstarters. Please read this guide carefully before use to ensure
optimum performance and avoid damage to the unit or to items with which you are
using the jumpstater.
The Vector® START-IT Co m p a ct Pro JUMPSTART SYSTEM & 1 2 VO LT DC
PO W ER SUPPLY is a compact, durable and portable jumpstart system for vehicles
and boats that have a standard 12 volt battery system. This self-contained, rechargeable
system will start most vehicles and boats without the need for a host vehicle or
110/ 120-volt AC power supply.
N O TE: In the rare event that the vehicle to be started has a Positive Grounded
System (positive battery terminal is connected to chassis): Replace step
4 and 5 above with steps, 4a and 5a and then proceed to steps 6
through 8 below.
4a. Connect negative (-) black clamp to vehicle battery‘s negative terminal.
5a. Connect positive (+) red clamp to vehicle chassis or a solid, non-moving,
metal vehicle component or body part. DO NOT clamp directly to positive
battery terminal or moving part.
6. Turn jumpstart system‘s power switch to O N position.
7. Start vehicle (do not turn key for longer than 5-6 seconds).
It can also be used as a safe, portable source of 12 volt DC electric power in remote
locations and/ or emergency situations. It is ideal for use with Vector® 12-volt DC cordless,
8. After vehicle starts, turn jumpstart system‘s Safety Switch to O FF position. Remove
clamps (disconnect the negative (Black) jumper cable first; followed by the positive
(Red) jumper cable) and replace them in the built-in storage holsters. Squeeze the
handles and slide the clamp into position and release your grip.

WARN IN GS:
• Always disconnect the negative (black) jumper cable first; followed by the positive
(red) jumper cable.
2. SWITCHES, INDICATORS AND PORTS:
The Safety Power Switch (Figure 1) is located on the upper left side of the panel. When it is
in the OFF position, the cable clamps are not powered and the reverse polarity alarm is
enabled and ready to detect polarity.
Never allow red and black clamps to touch each other or another common metal
conductor; this could cause damage to the unit and/ or create sparking/ explosion
hazard.
Below the Safety Power Switch is an On/ Off rocker switch (Figure 1) for the Worklight. The
Worklight is powered when the On/ Off rocker switch is On. The Worklight provides the
user with light while changing a tire, and connecting battery clamps. The Worklight is

long lasting lamp and will continuously operate for three days from a fully
charged battery.
• Always use protective eyewear when using this product; contact with battery
acid may cause blindness and/ or severe burns.
To the right of the rocker switch is the AC Recharge port (Figure 1). It is covered by a
rubber cap that keeps dust, dirt, and moisture out of the socket. The AC Recharge Adapters
barrel connector plugs into this port during recharge. Moving to the right are three LEDs, a
Battery Status Display, and a pushbutton. Pressing the pushbutton turns on the Battery Status
Display. Press the pushbutton to check the battery level at any time. Also press it
periodically during DC recharge.
Keep out of reach of children.
• ALWAYS store battery clamps in built-in holsters when not in use. Never touch battery
clamps together; this can cause dangerous sparks, power arcing and/ or explosion.
The colors of the three LEDs are two red and one green. During AC recharge, the Battery
Status Display is active to indicate the level of charge on the battery. The leftmost red LED
indicates minimum charge on the battery. Recharge the battery when that LED is the only
one lit. The center red LED indicates moderate charge on the battery. The green LED on the
right indicates when the battery is FULL and you can stop charging.
FIRST AID:
Sk in : If battery acid comes in contact with skin, rinse immediately with water, then
wash thoroughly with soap and water. If redness, pain, or irritation occurs, seek
immediate medical attention.
Below the Battery Status Display is a 12 Volt Accessory Socket (Figure 1). It is covered with
a rubber protective cap. The cap keeps dust, dirt and moisture out of the socket. When the
cap is lifted, the accessory socket can be used for powering 12 volt appliances that draw
up to 20 amps current. This socket is also used during DC recharge.
