IMPORTANT SAFEGUARD  
When using electrical appliance. Basic safety precautions should always be followed  
including the following:  
Carefully read all instructions before operating the appliance  
1. Make sure that your mains voltage corresponds to the voltage stated on the rating label of the  
toaster.  
2. Do not touch hot surface. Use handles or knobs only.  
3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the toaster or the power cord and plug in  
water,or other liquid.  
4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,  
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given  
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.  
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.  
WARNING: Only allow children to use the appliance without supervision when adequate  
instructions have been given so that the child is able to use the appliance in a safe way and  
understands the hazards of improper use.  
5. Unplug the unit before cleaning and when not in use.  
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or if the unit appears to be faulty. If its  
main cord is damaged, it must be repaired by a qualified person.  
To prevent damage, do not let the cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surface.  
7. Do not place on or near a heat source such as gas or electric cook-top or,oven.  
8. Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.  
9. Oversized food, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster as they may  
cause fire or electric shock.  
WARNING: Extra care should be taken when removing toasted items less than 85mm.  
10. Bread may burn, therefore toasters must not be used near or below curtains and other  
combustible materials, they must be supervised at all times.  
11. Do not use other accessories or attachments on this appliance.  
12. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is in operation, always unplug the toaster and wait  
until it cools before removing the food.  
Take care when removing food from the toaster, the surfaced may still be hot and could cause burn.  
This appliance has been incorporated with a grounded plug. Please ensure the power outlet in your  
house is correctly earthed.  
13. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate  
remote-control system.  
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.  
14. Don’t use the appliance outdoors.

FOR THE FIRST USE  
As there is manufacturing residue or oil remained in the toaster or heat element, it usually  
emits the odour for the first use. It is normal and will not occur after several times use. Before  
toasting the first slice of bread it is strongly suggested to operate the appliance following  
below instructions, except without bread.  
OPERATION:  
1. Put bread slice into the bread slots, it can be inserted two slices at most every  
time. Ensure that the items for toasting are not too thick or too large  
for the toasting slots.  
Note: Make sure the crumb tray is completely positioned in place before using.  
2. Insert the power cord into the power outlet.  
3. Set the desired browning setting by the colour control knob. There is  
7-position level, the lowest is white and the highest is dark. The bread slice  
can be toasted to golden color at the position of “4”.  
Note: a) Toasting colour for one slice is darker than that for 2 slices at the  
same level.  
b) If toasted continuously, toasting colour will tend to be darker  
with continuous use on the same setting.  
4. Press carriage handle down vertically until it is positioned in place, the  
indicator for the Cancel button will be illuminated, and toasting process

will commence. Once the bread has been toasted to the preset colour,  
the carriage handle will be automatically pop up.  
Note: The carriage handle can only be latched when the appliance connects to  
the power supply.  
5. You may press the Cancel button to cancel the operation at any time or when desired  
toast colour is achieved.  
6. Once the bread has been toasted to the selected preset browning, the carriage handle will  
automatically spring up.  
7. Reheated toasted bread, press the Reheat button and the lamp beside it will illuminate. In  
this mode toasting time is fixed, and the carriage handle will automatically spring up at the  
end of the reheating process.  
8. Toasting frozen bread, set colour control knob to your desired colour, press carriage  
handle down, press Defrost button and the lamp beside it will be illuminated, in this mode  
it will be toasted to your desired colour.  
CAUTION:  
1. Remove all protective wrapping prior to toasting.  
2. If toaster starts to smoke, Press Cancel button to stop toasting immediately.  
3. Avoid toasting the food with extremely runny ingredients such as butter.  
4. Never attempt to remove bread jammed in the slots without unplugging the  
toaster from the electrical outlet first, Be sure not to damage the internal  
mechanism or heating elements when removing bread.  
5. The bread slot is only applicable for toasting regular bread slices.  
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:  
1. Disconnect the power supply before cleaning.  
2. Wipe the outside with soft dry cloth after toaster cools down, never use metal  
polish.  
3. Pull out crumb tray on bottom of toaster and empty it. If toaster is used  
frequently, accumulated bread crumbs should removed at least once a week.  
Make sure the crumb tray is completely closed before using the toaster again.  
4. When not use or storage, the power cord may be wound under the bottom of  
toaster.

limited to, defect or injury caused by or resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, lack of  
maintenance, accidental damage, improper voltage, liquid spillage, vermin infestation,  
software, or any alterations made to the product which are not authorised by Sharp.  
Please retain your sales documentation, as this should be produced to validate a  
warranty claim. This warranty is in addition to and in no way limits, varies or excludes  
any implied rights and remedies under any relevant legislation in the country of sale.  
Australian customers: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded  
under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund  
for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable  
loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced  
if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount  
to a major failure. The criteria of a major failure is defined in the Australian
