GROUNDED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug (2 blades
and 1 pin). If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical outlet contact a qualified
electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way or use an adaptor.
BEFORE FIRST USE
1. Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
2. Remove all packaging.
3. Water boiled for the first time should be discarded.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
1. The Filter has been installed in the Kettle before shipping. If it has been
removed, install the Filter before using the Kettle. See the Care and
Cleaning section.
- DO NOT use the Kettle without the Filter in position as water may spill
out when boiling.
- DO NOT REMOVE THE FILTER WHEN THE KETTLE IS HOT.
2. Fill Kettle between the minimum and maximum levels shown on the Water
Level Window.
NOTE:
DO NOT attempt to fill while the Kettle is on the Power Base.
DO NOT use for other than boiling water. Other liquids will contaminate
the interior of the Kettle.
DO NOT fill past the MAX level indicated on the Water Level Window.
Overfilling may cause water to spill out when boiling.
3. Place Kettle on Base making sure it is correctly engaged on its Base.
4. Plug Power Base cord into a 120V AC wall outlet. NOTE: Never plug Power
Base with empty Kettle into the electrical outlet.
5. Depress the On/Off Switch to the ‘On’ position. The Indicator Light will
illuminate to indicate that the Kettle is in the boil cycle. Once the water
has boiled, the On/Off Switch will automatically switch to the ‘Off’ position
and the Indicator Light will go out.

6. If you want to use the Kettle again, allow the thermal safety switch to cool
down for 15 – 20 seconds then depress the On/Off Switch to the On
position. If the On/Off Switch does not remain in the ‘On’ position,
the Water is hot enough to use without reheating.
7. Unplug cord from wall outlet before lifting Kettle from Power Base.
Grip the Kettle by the Handle only, as the surface and lid will be hot.
8. Return the Kettle to the Power Base or place on a heat resistant surface
after use.
9. If the Kettle is accidently switched on when empty, the thermostat will
automatically cycle switching the Kettle off and allowing it to cool down
then switching it back on. If this situation occurs, unplug the Power Base
and let the Kettle cool before refilling.
10. It is recommended that the power cord be disconnected from the wall
outlet when not in use. DO NOT attempt to connect any other appliance
to the Power Base or tamper with the connector in any way.
CARE AND CLEANING
1. Unplug power cord from wall outlet. Empty out remaining water and
allow Kettle to cool before cleaning.
2. If necessary, remove and clean the Aquascreen Filter® by rinsing under running
water. The Filter can be removed by grasping firmly between your thumb
and forefinger and gently twisting off starting at either the right or left edge.
3. Under normal use, a deposit of scale may form on the inside of the Kettle
and cause some discolouration. Scale, which has accumulated inside
the Kettle, can be removed by boiling equal parts of white vinegar and
water (500 ml / 2 cups of each is recommended). Once the water has
boiled, allow mixture to stand several hours or overnight. Empty out
mixture and fill Kettle to the MAX level with fresh water. Bring water
to a boil and discard. For heavy scale build-up, repeat this process.
NOTE: This build-up can be delayed by pouring out old water and refilling
before each use.
4. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS
5. DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO ENTER THE POWER BASE
6. DO NOT IMMERSE KETTLE OR POWER BASE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUID.

A short supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards of becoming entangled
in or tripping over a long cord. Extension cords may be used if care is
exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating
of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as
great as the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the
grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounded 3-wire cord. The
extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter
top or table top, where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
