Ask students to find the appropriate picture card in the blend pockets and place it in the  
clear display pocket. Students should formulate a guess, identify a blend in the word,  
and then locate the appropriate blend pocket holding the picture card. Have students  
read and spell the word on the back of the picture card aloud before placing it in the  
display pocket.

Picture Card Sentences  
Place several picture cards in one of the extra storage pockets at the bottom of the pocket  
chart. Have students draw a picture card at random from the pocket and use the picture’s  
name in a sentence. Have students either place the picture card in a display pocket or in  
the appropriate blend pocket. You may want to use paper or a writing chart to help  
students record their sentences and identify the picture names used in the sentences.

104 Tarjetas de imágenes: Las tarjetas de imágenes tienen dos caras: en una de ellas  
aparece el dibujo y en la otra la correspondiente palabra. Las palabras presentan la  
combinación consonántica al principio, en medio o al final de la palabra,  
evidenciada de amarillo.  
Actividades aconsejadas:  
Combinación de Imagen y Sílaba  
Coloca las tarjetas de combinaciones consonánticas en los bolsillos de exposición  
libres de la parte superior del tablero. Coloca la o las tarjetas de imágenes  
correspondientes en el bolsillo de almacenamiento libre situado en la base del  
tablero. Pide a los alumnos que saquen las tarjetas con las ilustraciones del bolsillo  
de almacenamiento de la base del tablero, digan su nombre y combinen cada  
imagen con las tarjetas de combinaciones consonánticas que estén en sus nombres.  
Coloca la tarjeta en el bolsillo de exposición vacío que hay junto a la tarjeta de la  
combinación consonántica. Los alumnos usarán las palabras que hay detrás de las  
imágenes para verificar sus respuestas.
